Susan qualified as a Chinese Lawyer in 1992 and she was a founding partner with a leading Chinese law firm in Guangzhou , the capital of Canton . Susan has advised both international and domestic clients on corporate, investment, finance, Intellectual property, land law and contract law, and represented clients in litigations and international arbitrations. Clients include GE, LG, Kimberly Clark, ABN Amro, BP, HBO,Guangdong Public Security Bureau etc. She has a good record of successful non-contentious projects (investment, IPO, syndicate loan etc), and litigations and international arbitrations.
Susan was a visiting scholar from 1998 to 1999 in SOAS, University of London . She also obtained her MBA degree in international business management with the City University Business School in London ( Cass Business School ) in 2001. Subsequently, she passed the Common Practice Exam of Solicitors of England and Wales . Susan was then invited by School of Oriental and African Study of the University of London to lecture on Chinese commercial Law until June 2004.
Before joining us , Susan is a senior content and business development manager for LexisNexis, the legal branch of Reed Elsevier, the global legal information publisher. Susan has built up key relationships with legislative and regulatory bodies and ministries, courts and other institutions, such as the National People's Congress, the State Council, the Ministry of Commerce, The Patent Office and the Supreme Court. She also successfully helped the launch of LexisNexis' China online database while looking after the legal risks of the dealings in China .
